On top of that, they weigh half as much as the Nickel Metal Hybrid ones.
These batteries can be purchased used, refurbished, or new. I would not recommend buying a used battery, because if you do, you might need to recharge it once every 30 minutes or so. Refurbished batteries are better than the used ones, as they have the same quality as the new ones. They do not have the same warranty though, and the reason for that is the fact that they are cheaper than the new ones. The new batteries last for the longest period of time, but they are the most expensive as well.

In order to save some battery life, you can use the following tips; you can use the power-save mode for the computer, which will double the life of the battery. You can also turn off the networking devices, and remove the optical drives. They consume the most energy. You can also install a second battery, if the laptop has a universal bay. Usually the new battery is placed instead of the optical drive.
